Hello Twitter-ers!
Does today seem shorter to you? Yesterday was the Summer Solstice
which means it was the longest day of the year for us Northern
Hemisphere dwellers. It also means summer is officially upon us.
Twitter is ready for your summertime updates. What are you doing?
Visit http://twitter.com and answer!
Live Earth is Twittering
Speaking of summer, have you heard about how the World is heating
up? Apparently, we're heading towards a dramatic climate crisis.
Thankfully, the folks at Live Earth are Twittering daily with
simple ways we can make an impact and help ourselves out. For
example, did you know you can save $200 a year just by washing
your clothes in cold water? It's true, -- it's science!

Now for Some Science Fiction
David Hewlett plays Dr. Rodney McKay on Stargate: Atlantis -- a
sci-fi tv series about an international team of scientists and
military personnel on a one-way expedition to the distant Pegasus
galaxy. Follow David on Twitter and get a glimpse into the life of
a professional actor and self-described Geek.

What is the Matrix? Is it a film by the Wachowski brothers
starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, and
Hugo Weaving? Yes it is. But it's also the inspiration for a cool
Japanese Twitter mash-up. Check out these Twitter updates as they
stream downwards Matrix style.

Activating and Inviting
Here's a couple hints that may be news to new Twitter users but
more like reminders for long-timers. Not everyone knows that you
can send and receive Twitter updates via mobile texting, instant
message, or the web. To get started, visit the activation page in
your settings. Of course, to invite friends you visit the
invitations page.

Working at Twitter
The New York Times says Twitter is "one of the fastest-growing
phenomena on the Internet." They're right, we are growing -- in
fact, we've added more positions to our jobs page. If you'd like
to join us in San Francisco, please consider allowing Twitter to
employ you -- we promise there's plenty of work to go around.

That's all for now. Happy Twittering!
